Text Message

Text Messages is a durational performance collaboration between Huang Suhuai and Smiha Kapoor from December 2020 to January 2021, focusing on delivering handwritten text messages by walking instead of using technology to communicate. Modern technologies of communication are fast-paced and often surface level. They require instant responsiveness and become a focus of distraction throughout the day. This collaborative work focuses on building a new form of communication between two artists. In the process of slowing down this reactive and instantaneous mode of texting, it embraces all the misunderstandings which surface.
